Our Sheffield Wednesday fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait for the new season to begin with them aiming for promotion to the Premier League at long last.
The Owls have been close to the promised land of the top flight in both of the last two seasons but just fell short in the play-offs.
The plan surely, then, is to go third time lucky this year and get themselves up and players like Barry Bannan are going to be expected to be a big part of that from midfield.
When he tweeted about his last day on holiday, then, fans were quick to respond to ensure he knows how important hitting the ground running is going to be from the get-go.
