Sheffield Wednesday certainly appear to have turned a corner following the dismissal of Jos Luhukay.
Lee Bullen has been in temporary charge of the Owls, with Steve Bruce set to arrive imminently, and has guided the team to two wins and two draws in his four games.
However, it appears that he has revealed some encouraging news about one of the Hillsborough outfit’s stars.
Fernando Forestieri has been struggling with injuries recently, but Bullen has stated that he could be back after the weekend.
Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, he said: “Forestieri is closer (than Kieran Lee and Gary Hooper) to coming back.
“He’s done a fair bit of rehab down in London. He should be back after the weekend, I think. Whether he’s ready to go into full training I’m not sure, we’ll just have to assess him at that point.”
Forestieri has been an important player for Sheffield Wednesday in the past, having been crowned their top scorer in his first two seasons with the club.
However, the Argentine forward has struggled with numerous injuries over the last season-and-a-half which has been costly for the Owls.
The news that he could return soon will be encouraging for fans, although they may have to hold their breath as an arrest warrant is currently out for the 28-year-old.
