Sheffield Wednesday’s immediate focus will be on their game against Norwich City on Saturday afternoon, however, some eyes will be wandering over to their meeting with Sheffield United next Friday.
Jos Luhukay will want to return to winning ways against the Canaries this weekend to allow his side to go into the Steel City Derby with as much confidence as possible.
However, it appears he will be without one of his key players for the fixture that many mark on their calendars when the dates are released.
“No, it is not possible that he will play against Sheffield United,” he said.
“First we must hope that he maybe comes back next week to the team training, but he is now a couple of weeks not on the training field and also not in the shape, or something else.”
Luhukay suggested that a return would be more likely following the international break when he also expects Marco Matias to make a return as well.
Forestieri is yet to taste a Sheffield Derby since being at the Owls and it appears that wait will go on for that little bit longer.
The Argentina-born Italian forward has been the top goalscorer for Wednesday in his two full seasons at the club and his absence has been felt by the Hillsborough outfit already this year.
However, Luhukay will be keen to make sure his side is as focused as possible for the match against Norwich this weekend, before looking too far ahead to this season’s first Steel City Derby.
