Former Blackburn man heavily linked to vacancy, has plenty of experience

BlackburnThe Blackburn fans in the Transfer Tavern are waiting by the bar in anticipation on who will be their next manager and it seems that it could be a familiar name who will take charge of Blackburn as numerous former players are being linked with the Lancashire club.

The Lancashire Telegraph report that the current Rochdale boss Keith Hill may be at the top of Blackburn’s list.

The former player made over 100 appearances for the club between 1987 and 1992 and Venkeys see him as a perfect replacement for Lambert. Hill’s ability to compete with Rochdale despite having one of the lowest wages in the league is thought to be a major factor in this decision.

It looks as if Blackburn are starting to look for somebody who will bring youth to the club instead of relying on transfers. Financially Blackburn will struggle to compete next season as their Premier League parachute payments have ended.

Hill is relatively new to the championship if he is to join his old club having only managed in the championship once with Barnsley in 2012. But with Blackburn in need of somebody different it may be time to look down the leagues for a newer manager than looking at older ones.

Blackburn Fans…. Who would you have in charge? Is Hill the right choice?
