Leeds United will be desperate to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League having enjoyed a lot of success under Marcelo Bielsa already this season.
The Whites haven’t necessarily been at their best this season but they’re still in a promising position to surpass their aims for the current campaign. Although, they did suffer a big setback on the transfer front recently, as according to Leeds Live, Gaetano Berardi is set to be sidelined for four months.
Leeds United defender Gaetano Berardi has been ruled out for 16 weeks in what is the latest blow for the Whites in a season plagued with injuries.
The Swiss limped off during the first-half of Whites’ win over Ipswich Town last month, when he was making his second start after a separate seven-week lay-off.
But he will now not be available until February after the club confirmed he has suffered a hamstring tendon rupture.
Gaetano Berardi impressed in his newly-found central defensive role this season and was a regular in the first team prior to his injury troubles, so the Whites will be gutted to be without his services for a long period of time.
Barry Douglas has only just returned from injury and Luke Ayling is set to be out for a period of time, so things are currently working against Leeds.
