The Baggies would have hoped for a better start to life in the Championship, but they have managed to lay down the foundations over the past few games.
Indeed, the Championship club managed to hold onto a number of their star players this summer and drafted in some additions of their own, so it’s safe to say that Darren Moore has the resources. But, it’s all about whether the players can gel together from here on in, with promotion to the Premier League being tough to achieve.
Interestingly, the month of September may decide West Bromwich Albion’s fate as they have the opportunity to put themselves in a promising position to kick on and achieve automatic promotion, but things could also go horribly wrong at the same time.
With that in mind, here is the dream September for the Baggies…
DWIGHT GAYLE FIRES ON ALL CYLINDERS
Dwight Gayle made the switch from Newcastle United during the summer transfer window as part of a loan deal that involved Salomon Rondon going the other way to St James’ Park. The Englishman has managed to provide a number of assists and a goal so far, but he hasn’t quite shown his natural goalscoring ability just yet.
The Baggies already have Jay Rodriguez at the pinnacle of the attack as his strike partner, so if the two of them start firing then the race for promotion may just turn in the Baggies’ favour.
Indeed, if the loan man begins to find the back of the net throughout the month of September then it may be curtains for any other Championship defence.
ENJOY UNBEATEN RUN
Ensuring consistency is vital when it comes down to getting out of a tough league like the Championship, but this is something that the Baggies have struggled to achieve so far this season.
Indeed, the Midlands club struggled adjusting to life outside of the Premier League as they had to wait until their third game for their first win. But, if they do manage to enjoy an unbeaten run during the month of September then they’ll soon find themselves in the race for automatic promotion.Like what the TT have on offer?
