The Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been showing their appreciation for the club’s majority shareholder and chairman, Andrea Radrizzani. The Italian arranged with the FA for England’s final warm-up match against Costa Rica to be played at Elland Road, with the Three Lions winning 2-0 in front of a jubilant Yorkshire crowd.
A special night for #LUFC and a fantastic atmosphere building.

Whilst Leeds domestic season has been disappointing, nothing was going to stop the Whites getting behind the national team, especially when they had a couple of homegrown players to cheer on at Elland Road last night. Danny Rose and Fabian Delph both started in the fixture and having come through Leeds Academy, you can see why last night will have meant a lot to not just the fans, but to some of the players too.
The night at Elland Road has shown many fans that the Yorkshire club simply don’t belong in the Championship and if England are to have more nights away from Wembley like they did against Costa Rica then it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the national team go from ground to ground to play their friendlies at club grounds. Everyone seemed to be in agreement yesterday that the atmosphere was better away from Wembley, and it’s a testament to Andrea Radrizzani for making it happen.

Some of the none #lufc fans may choose to make derogatory remarks about Elland Road tonight but for a second tier team to be given the honour of holding the final send off before a #worldcup speaks volumes about the current owners and the fans #ENGCRC #ALAW #MOT

As you can see, Leeds loved having their ground on show for the world to see and the club would be a welcome addition back to the Premier League, with the atmosphere and noise created by the fans throughout the whole game as England won their final warm-up match.
