Wolverhampton Wanderers fans here in the Tavern will hoping that their side can ensure safety next season, as relegation back to the Championship would be seen as a disaster.
Nuno Espirito Santo has had the magic touch this season as his Wolves side managed to secure promotion to the Premier League and the Championship title in the process.
Sadly, Wolves could face relegation back to the Championship if they fail to bring in a number of quality players during the summer transfer window, as other Premier League sides will be sure to bolster their squads.
Indeed, having seen how effective the likes of Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota, Barry Douglas and Willy Boly have been since joining the club last summer, Nuno Espirito Santo won’t be afraid to splash the cash and dip into the loan market once again this summer.
With that in mind, if Wolverhampton Wanderers are serious about survival, they must hand Nuno Espirito Santo this megastar ASAP…
Rui Patricio (valued at £14.4m by Transfermarkt) has played for current club Sporting Lisbon since he was 12 but could leave this summer due to a release clause in his contract.
The 30-year-old is arguably one of the best goalkeepers in Europe and it’s likely that he will be Portugal’s first-choice goalkeeper this summer at the World Cup.
Wolves will be looking to sign a goalkeeper during the summer transfer window to provide healthy competition for John Ruddy. And, the Portuguese shot-stopper may even be able to establish himself as the club’s first-choice ‘keeper if he makes the move, as Ruddy was criticised for making a number of unforced errors last season.
