Influential Leeds man compares Bielsa to legendary Premier League manager

Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern will be excited with the upcoming Championship season and will be hopeful Marcelo Bielsa can make a huge impact as their new boss.

The Argentine has plenty of experience having worked at the top levels of the game for a number of years and many in the bar will have felt it was a major coup to bring him to Elland Road.

The manager has already been active in regards to the changes he has made and, according to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, there is a buzz around the place with one man comparing him to a legendary Premier League manager.

Angus Kinnear, who is the club’s managing director, has stated that there is an air of Arsene Wenger to Bielsa’s methods in the way he prepares his squad.

“We’re really satisfied. He has a clear philosophy and a clear gravitas. He’s not learning on the job,” he told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“He’s been there and done it and there’s very much an Arsene Wenger approach in the breadth of his influence: how does the canteen operate, how does the gym operate, how do the leisure areas work, where are the players parking, precisely what happens on a matchday.

“He hasn’t talked about the theory of marginal gains but he’s looking at every area of the club and how we can get better. We’re a week in but there’s clearly a huge impact and a big difference.”

Landlord’s Verdict

The Leeds fans in the Tavern will definitely be getting excited, if they were not already, about the future of the club in the hands of Bielsa.

It is clear to see that he has been making a huge impact off the field already, however, the locals will now be expecting it to happen when it eventually matters, the 90 minutes on the pitch.
