Introducing: Bradley Dack

Introducing: Bradley Dack

Leeds United’s promising opening to the season has been characterised by an aesthetically pleasing brand of football which Samu Saiz has seamlessly adapted to with tantalising guile, but Blackburn Rovers star Bradley Dack has put him to shame in one key department: finding the back of the net.

Dack and Saiz are two of the Championship’s most effective number tens and the quality of their performances will play a huge role in determining where their respective sides finish in the league table.

Saiz has earned plenty of plaudits for his playmaking quality and his elusive tendency to collect the ball in pockets of space between the lines of midfield and attack, but positive performances have yet to translate into a single goal.

Meanwhile, after thriving in League One last season as Blackburn clinched promotion back into the second-tier, Dack has picked up where he left off by notching 8 goals from his first 10 appearances in all-competitions.

Boasting a record of nearly a goal a game, Dack has been lauded for his performances at the start of the season.

Like Saiz, Dack is a player who possesses the natural ability to operate between the lines and receive the ball in tight situations, maintaining composure and awareness all the while.

But the one distinguishing factor which separates Blackburn’s crown jewel from Leeds’ midfield maestro is their comparative ability to find the back of the net.

That Leeds are still flying high and in contention for promotion this season suggests that Saiz’s failure to find the back of the net does not represent a huge problem for either him or the club, but on a personal level there is no doubt that Dack has the advantage.

Besides, in the position Dack and Saiz play in it’s only natural that, when the season draws to a close, both players will be at least partially judged on their goal-scoring return.

At this moment in time Dack is comfortably storming ahead of Saiz and putting him to shame in the goal-scoring charts, and his prolific tendency is showing no sign of easing up anytime soon.
