Jos Luhukay admits Sheffield Wednesday don’t have a team to win every game

Sheffield Wednesday will meet Birmingham City on Saturday at St. Andrews and will be looking to bounce back from two consecutive defeats.

The Hillsborough outfit had been on a promising run in the Championship prior to those defeats which saw them move into the playoffs.

Jos Luhukay has seen his Owls side beaten by Middlesbrough and Queens Park Rangers with a number of mistakes proving costly, which has led to some fans becoming disgruntled with recent performances.

The Dutchman was asked about the fans reactions to the consecutive defeats and admitted that he did not have a squad capable of winning every game in this season’s competition.

“The reality is we don’t have a team who can win every game in this league,” he told the Sheffield Star.

“When you can do that, you are the best team in the league.”

The Verdict:

Luhukay’s admission about his team will not feel the Sheffield Wednesday fans with any confidence, especially following their latest setbacks.

It should be noted that the Owls have, arguably, been playing a lot better than many had originally expected them to do so following the transfer embargo they had at the start of the season.

Wednesday will now look to rectify things against Birmingham on Saturday, however, Garry Monk’s side are on a ten game unbeaten run and will certainly be a tough test for Luhukay.
