Sheffield Wednesday currently sit in the Championship’s playoff positions at the moment after coming through their toughest run of fixtures, with just one defeat to their name.
The Owls managed to pick up important results against many of the top teams in the division to keep themselves in the hunt for a possible place in next year’s Premier League.
It would have been considered unlikely for the Hillsborough outfit at the start of the season, however, they have been performing well and look good value for where they are currently standing.
The club have failed to keep a clean sheet this season, which would initially cause some concerns, however, Jos Luhukay is not too bothered by that as long as they continue to find the back of the net at the other end on a consistent basis.
“I can honestly say I feel better and happier when we win 5-4 or 4-3 than 1-0 or 2-1,” he told the Sheffield Star.
“You play football to score goals and it is what the fans want to see. But, of course, it is important at the end that you have a positive result.
“If we make one goal more than the opponent, I have no problem with that.”
Although Sheffield Wednesday do not appear to be short of confidence in front of goal, there should be some concern that they can not keep a side at bay.
Yes, it is true that goals win games, but also keeping them out will be vital and could be what defines their season at the end of the campaign, with goal difference possibly playing a role in what position they could end up finishing in.
Should the Owls go through a barren spell up front, Luhukay will need to have the trust in his defence to be able to keep the other end tight as possible as some goalless draws could make all the difference.
