Sheffield Wednesday will look to get back to winning ways when they travel to Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday night.
The Owls were beaten by Middlesbrough in their last Championship fixture, which has seen them tumble down the table, although they still remain in touching distance of a playoff spot.
Jos Luhukay will be keen to see his players bounce back when they take to the field at Loftus Road, however, he has revealed he does not expect two men to feature for his team in 2018.
Lee had looked close to a return, however, he picked up a knee injury whilst trying to make a comeback from his hip problem, whilst Hooper is currently crocked with a groin issue, with both being on the sidelines since December.
“I think these two players will not play again for us this year,” Luhukay told The Sheffield Star.
“They have had treatment in the last weeks and months but they are not on the field.
“They are not training with the sports science staff. It is only physio work they are doing.
“Kieran has been out over a year. Gary has been out since December.
“They are not training outside with the sports scientists or the team and it is now the middle of October.”
This will have come as huge news for those at Sheffield Wednesday as some will have been hopeful that Hooper may have had a chance to return, as he looked to be heading in the right direction.
Lee had a horrible setback to his recovery and a return to the first-team had looked on the cards at one point, however, he will also need to spend more time on the sidelines.
The Owls have had a number of injury concerns this season already, however, Luhukay will want the team to focus on their away trip to QPR and ensure they are still in a position to challenge for promotion.
