Jos Luhukay warns players not to become complacent

Sheffield Wednesday boss Jos Luhukay has warned his players not to get carried away with how results have gone and has told them to continue to work hard.

The Owls beat Reading 2-1 at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday afternoon and gave them their third successive victory in the Championship following a difficult start.

However, Luhukay has told his squad that they should not be looking too far ahead and must continue to put the work in to continue picking up the positive results.

“I’m happy that we have 10 points. We have worked hard to achieve that,” he told The Star.

“But we must not think we are better than what we are. We must work hard every game to be successful.

“We have six games in three weeks after the international break.”

The Hillsborough Stadium outfit have not always put in the best performances when it comes to viewing, however, they have managed to grind out a number of key results as they make their best start to a season following Dejphon Chansiri’s takeover in 2015.

The Verdict:

Sheffield Wednesday will be pleased with the start to the season that they have had, especially considering they could not make any signings for a long period of the summer.

The Owls have managed to grind a number of positive results out from their performances, however, Luhukay will be keen to see those improve as the season goes on.

They will return to action against Stoke City once the international break is over in a fixture that could truly test how well the Dutchman’s side can cope with the bigger sides in the Championship.
