Sheffield Wednesday have been hit with another injury blow as one of their midfielders had looked to make a return.
The Owls man managed to play just 15 minutes of their Under-23 side’s match with Colchester United on Monday and was forced off with an apparent problem.
The injury is just one of the latest setbacks Lee has received, with his last competitive fixture coming in the early part of December last year, meaning he is yet to feature for Jos Luhukay.
The report states that the extent of his injury is not yet known, although it is believed that the 30-year-old has been plagued with a similar problem for the last couple of weeks.
This latest setback will come as a devastating blow to Lee as he looks to make a comeback to competitive football.
The midfielder has not yet had the opportunity to show Luhukay what he can offer to the Owls since the Dutchman’s arrival and he will have been frustrated that he may be some way off from being able to once again.
The 30-year-old has spent an awful amount of time on the sidelines and will be hoping this latest setback is not as lengthy as the one he had just looked to recover from.
