Sheffield Wednesday have been struggling this season towards the bottom of the Championship, with the pressure thought to have been building on Jos Luhukay.
Results have not been great, whilst the Owls have also found it difficult to cope with the number of injuries that their first-team have had recently.
The developmental side were in action against Crewe Alexandra on Monday afternoon, however, three of their forgotten senior players were involved in the game.
Taking to Twitter, the League Two side posted a team sheet on their official account that showed the likes of Kieran Westwood, George Boyd and Joost van Aken all named in the starting line-up.

Wednesday were held to a 2-2 draw on the day, with Westwood playing in just the first half, although the other pair managed to complete the full 90 minutes for Neil Thompson’s side.
Westwood and Boyd have certainly appeared to have been deemed surplus to requirements under Luhukay, whilst Van Aken works his way back to fitness.
However, it does appear to be strange to see the forgotten men in action for the developmental side, considering that they have rarely been involved at either level so far.
Fans have called for the likes of Westwood to make a return to the first-team, so it remains to be seen if Luhukay has plans for him to feature, or if they quite simply looked to give him some minutes on the field.
