Leeds United fans here in the Tavern will be hoping that their side can secure promotion next season after failing to ensure consistency under Paul Heckingbottom thus far.
Paul Heckingbottom has struggled to get the fans on board since taking over from Thomas Christiansen back in February, with Leeds seemingly taking a step backwards under the Englishman.
Although, the players didn’t exactly help on the pitch at times, with a number of first-team defenders often producing silly mistakes and failing to ensure defensive solidity.
So, Leeds United will need to bring in a central defender this summer to help lighten the load on Pontus Jansson’s shoulders, with many of our local residents having flashbacks of Lucas Radebe’s brilliance at Elland Road.
Indeed, the South African made 227 appearances for the Whites and established himself as arguably the best central defender to have ever played at Elland Road. So, supporters will be desperate to see another central defender replicate his magic in the near future, with Premier League football being a guarantee when Radebe was around.
So without further ado, landing this defender would surely give Leeds United fans Radebe flashbacks…
Kyle Bartley, who is valued at £3.15 million (by Transfermarkt), was superb in his season long loan spell at the club last season, but opted to stay with his parent club Swansea City to fight for Premier League football.
The central defender is adored at Elland Road, just like Radebe was, so they’ll look to make him their primary target this summer.
Leeds United never had to worry about defensive solidity when the Swansea City defender was around, as he formed a formidable partnership with Pontus Jansson at the back.
So, with supporters still admiring how brilliant Radebe was during the glory days, it may not be long until another central defender follows in his footsteps, having seen how effect Kyle Bartley was last season at Elland Road, with pace and power being two of his strongest attributes.Like what the TT have on offer?
