Leeds expected to make changes for Preston clash

Leeds United will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to seven games under Marcelo Bielsa as they host Preston North End in the League Cup on Tuesday night.

The Whites are yet to taste defeat under the Argentine manager and currently sit top of the Championship table.

And, in order for his side to keep the pace that they play at going, it is expected that he will make a number of changes for their cup clash, according to a match preview by Sky Sports.

It is believed Bielsa could utilise some of his fringe players, as well as getting his summer signings more involved as the season kicks into gear.

The likes of Patrick Bamford, Jack Harrison and Jamal Blackman could all make starts at Elland Road, whilst youngsters Tom Pearce and Jamie Shackleton are also in contention to feature from the beginning.

That could mean the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Kemar Roofe, Samu Saiz and Luke Ayling could all be set for a rest as they prepare for a top of the table clash with Middlesbrough at the weekend.

The Verdict:

With the way Leeds are playing under Bielsa, they will be considered favourites to advance to the next round of the competition.

The Argentine will be expecting a certain level of performance from his players and will want to see them continue their fine start to the campaign.

Although he is expected to make changes, the Whites should have enough about them to see off Preston and the likes of Bamford, Harrison and Blackman will all be looking to make an impression.
