After losing their unbeaten record this season, most Leeds fans were far from pleased. However, the fans weren’t too fussed after they heard the honest words from Marcelo Bielsa afterwards. Speaking to The Yorkshire Evening Post the Argentine claimed that it was his fault for the loss, refusing to blame the referee or his players for the disappointing result.
“It’s a high price to pay for a tactical mistake.” Marcelo Bielsa blames himself after Leeds United suffer their first league defeat of the season:https://t.co/TqFvi2zEBs

To hear these words from Bielsa will be a breath of fresh air for The Whites. It’s so often in football that the referee was at fault or this or that according to different managers, but for Bielsa to come out and take sole responsibility was refreshing. The 63-year-old has claimed that it was not the right game to start with a back four and he should have started with three at the back, a system which he changed to when he hooked Kalvin Phillips on 34 minutes.
Bielsa has brought Phillips off early before in games too, with the midfielder being hooked after 28 minutes at The Liberty Stadium when they drew 2-2 with Swansea earlier this month. Despite this, Bielsa has refused to put any blame on Phillips and has instead labelled it as a ‘tactical mistake’ which he has taken full responsibility for. It’s pleasing to see this from the Elland Road boss but the fans will hope he can make fewer mistakes in the future.

Nice to see he isn't blaming the team like previous managers…..

If MB can learn from this mistake great, but I thought it was the same Mistake as Millwall, KP as a third CB against 2 Strikers has now shown it doesn’t work in current style. GB back will give more options to play that formation soon, but plan c is required due to CB limitations

Honest coach taking the heat off the players some who were clearly off the pace today he will have them watch the game and put it right on Friday night.
