Leeds fans celebrate Pablo Hernandez’s Fans’ player of the month award

Leeds United are a club that have looked totally transformed since Marcelo Bielsa came in. The Whites have gone from hoping for a playoff place and capitulating at the last minute to a side that looks like they can win the Championship at a canter. If they are to win the Championship, the form of Pablo Hernandez will be crucial and he’s already got off to a flier.

The competition was tough for the player of the month of August, with a number of players standing out. However, Hernandez beat off competition from his teammate, Kemar Roofe as well Andreas Weimann, Niel Maupay, Nick Powell and Darren Randolph as he scooped the 2018/19 season’s first Fans’ Player of the Month award. It was well-deserved too, as he bagged himself three goals and two assists in Leeds rapid start.

Most 33-year-old’s would be starting to wind down as they near the end of their career but that simply isn’t the case for Hernandez, who looks as potent as ever as he continues to dazzle fans at Elland Road. The Spaniard will be keen to gain promotion with Leeds before thinking about hanging up his boots and if he can get them back to the big time and get them settled in the top-flight before retiring then there will be no shortage of Yorkshiremen willing to buy the flashy attacking midfielder a pint.

The fans are delighted for Hernandez on being recognised for his performances and will be keen to see the Spaniard continue delivering on the pitch as the season draws on.
