There are some things that you simply don’t see every day. Today, one of those things has come along as Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has taken to Twitter to share a picture of The Pope with a Leeds jersey that he had given him when the two met, and the fans love it.

Andrea Radrizzani is certainly a man whose stock is rising. The Italian’s football broadcasting company, Eleven Sports, have got some big TV rights for La Liga which will be bringing him a fortune in and then you’ve got the current successes of Leeds United, who are flying high having appointed Marcelo Bielsa in an attempt to get them out of the Championship and into the Premier League.
Radrizzani also claimed on his Twitter that the Whites have one special supporter, which begs the question of whether or not Pope Francis was, in fact, a Leeds United fan before he met Radrizzani. If he was, the fans will be loving it, but if he’s jumped on the bandwagon as a result of their recent successes then some of the fans might be slightly more reluctant to welcome him into the Leeds family.

The fans are loving the idea that Pope Francis is a Leeds fans and they’ll be keen to welcome him to Elland Road whenever he’s next in Yorkshire.
