Leeds fans on Twitter aren’t ready to sell Jansson

Pontus Jansson is yet to feature for Leeds United this season after he spent the summer away with Sweden as part of his nation’s World Cup squad that was knocked out by England in the quarterfinals. Phil Hay on Twitter has claimed that the club has rejected a bid of around £10 million for the player from Russian side Krasnodar and the fans are adamant that he needs to stay.

Whilst Jansson can sometimes rub the fans up the wrong way with his bullish approach to press conferences and his frank honesty at any situation he’s faced with, the supporters are more than keen to keep him at the club. The Swedish defender has shown that when he’s playing with confidence and a solid partner that he can be one of the best defenders in the league.

The problem so far for the Swede at Elland Road has been having a consistent partner. In the 2016/17 season, he was partnered with Kyle Bartley on-loan from Swansea and the pair looked fearsome at the heart of The Whites defence. last season was different as the club failed to provide the 27-year-old with a capable partner and he was often caught out as he tried to cover whoever he was thrown next to. However, under Marcelo Bielsa, things should be different and the fans are keen to keep Jansson at all costs.
