Pontus Jansson is yet to feature for Leeds United this season after he spent the summer away with Sweden as part of his nation’s World Cup squad that was knocked out by England in the quarterfinals. Phil Hay on Twitter has claimed that the club has rejected a bid of around £10 million for the player from Russian side Krasnodar and the fans are adamant that he needs to stay.
Reports in Sweden of Russian interest in Pontus Jansson. It's true that Leeds did receive a bid from Krasnodar (somewhere close to £10m). Bid was turned down. #lufc

Whilst Jansson can sometimes rub the fans up the wrong way with his bullish approach to press conferences and his frank honesty at any situation he’s faced with, the supporters are more than keen to keep him at the club. The Swedish defender has shown that when he’s playing with confidence and a solid partner that he can be one of the best defenders in the league.
The problem so far for the Swede at Elland Road has been having a consistent partner. In the 2016/17 season, he was partnered with Kyle Bartley on-loan from Swansea and the pair looked fearsome at the heart of The Whites defence. last season was different as the club failed to provide the 27-year-old with a capable partner and he was often caught out as he tried to cover whoever he was thrown next to. However, under Marcelo Bielsa, things should be different and the fans are keen to keep Jansson at all costs.
You can read the Whites’ verdict on Jansson here:
Some of the replies here saying sell. Absolutely clueless. We are already lacking CB cover, when fully fit and on it he's our best CB. To improve you keep your best players and add to them.

Remember Pontus season before last when the midfield wasn't being overrun every match? He was and still is an absolutely quality defender. Defence looked weaker last season due to weaker midfield and the worst keeper we've had in a long time. We won't be able to buy better.

People saying sell Pontus for £10m are crazy. Once he settles back in and gels to Bielsa’s system, he’ll be invaluable. He lives and breathes Leeds you can see with the way he is with us fans. £10M is nothing in the grand scheme of things. #LUFC

Some of you lot are so fickle its sickening!

When he's on it, he's the best CB in the league. When things get tough he goes missing, pulls his socks down then up, then lifts his shirt, pulls his best down and then repeat. He misses Bartley at his side. Keep him yes – indispensable – no.

Sooner the window closes the better, glad he is back for Saturday #lufc

The fans are desperate to keep Jansson and will be relieved when the window closes so they can be sure of keeping the Swede at the club.
