Leeds fans on Twitter buzzing for Klich as he returns to Poland squad

Leeds United have been a force of nature so far in the Championship, winning three and drawing two of their five games and they’ve scored 12 goals in the process. Individually, a number of players have stepped up, but it’s the form of Mateusz Klich that is most impressive, as the 28-year-old has scored three goals and earned himself a spot in the Poland squad.

In his playing career so far, Klich has already managed to make ten senior appearances for his nation and he’s even found the net once in those games. However, his last appearance with the national team came almost four years ago to the day, when he turned out as a late substitute in a 7-0 win over Gibraltar in a European Qualifier. This time around, he’ll be keen to make more than just a substitute appearance though.

After being one of the standouts in the Championship, it’s not at all surprising to see that he’s been picked up by his country and it looks like he’s done so at the right time. If he can stay in the team throughout the UEFA Nations League fixtures he’ll have a good shot of playing at Euro 202o should Poland qualify. However, in the short term, the Whites are more concerned about Klich staying fit and coming back to Elland Road injury free after the upcoming games against Ireland and the Czech Republic.

The fans are delighted for their man and will be desperate to see him perform well and come back fit.
