Leeds United faced Hull City earlier today in U23 action and with The Whites first team not playing in the week a number of the senior players have dropped into the side, making it look like an extremely good team for the level which they’re playing at.

As Barry Douglas continues his return from his injury he’s been thrown in to start the clash at Thorpe Arch and he’s joined by fellow senior players, Tyler Roberts, Jamie Shackleton, Jamal Blackman, Lewis Baker and Jack Clarke, making up one of the strongest U23 sides that you’ll see Leeds ever put out. A lot of those are looking for minutes as they aim to become first-team regulars and they’ll all appreciate the game time they’re getting.
With a big game against Wigan Atheltic next Sunday, a lot of players will be hoping to be apart of the senior squad and play their part and getting a chance to impress Marcelo Bielsa, who will no doubt be watching this U23 clash, will mean a lot to the players. The Argentine gaffer has shown already that he’s not against putting in some of the academy’s players into the senior squad when needed and the youngsters will be keen to take their chance here.

Really surprised baker hasn’t been used more in the first team this season. Plenty of pace and drive in him when he comes on to stretch tired teams

The fans were shocked at the strength of the side which Corberan put out and they’ll be hoping Bielsa fields a similar side next Sunday.
