Marcelo Bielsa has made something of a habit out of promoting youth players at Elland Road, and yesterday he was doing just that again, as he travelled to Loftus Road with an inexperienced side full of academy players, and gave a few of them their debuts, including the young Kun Temenuzhkov, who the Whites were delighted to see come on as a sub.
Temenuzhkov coming on. #lufc

Temenuzhkov left Barcelona B back in summer 2017 to join Leeds United’s academy, and the player himself probably didn’t think he’d be making his debut this sooner, especially seeing as yesterday was the first time this season that the young striker had even been included in a matchday squad by the ever-impressive Marcelo Bielsa this season.
Given the Whites’ track-record this season, it was never really a surprise to see how many youngsters they had on the bench, and as always, Bielsa wasn’t afraid to use them. The score was at 2-1 to the hosts when Bielsa rolled the dice and threw Temenuzhkov on in place of Tom Pearce, and whilst the young Bulgarian was unable to influence the scoreline, it was still a day he’ll never forget.

The Whites loved seeing the 18-year-old attacker make his debut, and they’ll be hoping that there is more to come from the youngster in the rest of the season.
