When Leeds United signed Patrick Bamford the fans will have been delighted. Not only did they get a great goalscorer at Championship level, but they got a man who’s a credit to the club both on and off the pitch. Yesterday saw the ex-Chelsea man make his long-awaited injury return from the bench, and he did the necessary, scoring the winning goal.

That will have been a moment that Bamford has been dreaming about since he first suffered hs injury. In his few games before being crocked, the 25-year-old managed to score his 1st goal for the Whites, however, it didn’t come in the Championship. His only gosl before yesterday was a Carabao Cup goal, so his strike yesterday will have meant even more to him as he opened his League account for the club.
It looks at the moment like Bamford’s decision to swap the Riverside Stadium for Elland Road was a suerb one. The fact that Marcelo Bielsa’s side won again yesterday means that they overtook Norwich in 1st, as the Canaries drew away at Ashton Gate. However, the season is long from over, and Bamford will need to continue adding goals if he’s to ensure his side is in the top two come May.
