Yesterday saw Leeds United lose just their second game of the season in the Championship. Marcelo Bielsa’s side fell to a 2-1 defeat at Ewood Park and the fans will be keen to see them bounce back as soon as possible, hopefully against bottom of the table Ipswich on Wednesday.
Bielsa felt Blackburn were better at winning the 50-50s. "Our players are better when we keep the ball and play with the ball." #lufc

The season started really well for The Whites under Bielsa. The club were top of the league for a time and are still in the mix with an impressive 23 points from 13 games, leaving them just two points off of Middlesbrough who are 1st with 25 points. However, they could be top of the league had they been able to overcome a stern Blackburn yesterday in the Championship’s early kickoff.
After the game, Bielsa claimed that Blackburn were better in the 50-50s and that’s why they won. That has made for a grim statement for the fans, though, who are worried about their side’s lack of aggression when they play. The start of the season saw them turn over Stoke 3-1 and Derby 4-1 and the club looked like a force of nature since then, however, injuries have set in and they look a lot more vulnerable.
You can read The Whites’ verdict on Bielsa’s comments here:
You can’t lose all the 50-50s and win, even with 68% possession. They just wanted it more than us today. Worrying for #lufc

Fine but where’s the aggression we saw in the first few games??

We're soft. Still.

Leeds were soft out battled 2nd to the ball on many occasions despite what we’ve been told about this team. Manager picked wrong starting line up imo players were poor defending set prices abysmal bad day all around imo

once again as last season we are too lightweight got to get Forshaw in the team badly in need of some bite , Need Douglas back and get rid of Alioski simply not good enough one amazing bit of play to 20 odd giving ball away

That's a vital part. Blackburn far more aggressive. Have to battle.

100% agree with that. They were winning all the 50 50’s. I notice that games where we don’t pass be ball is when we are vulnerable, today being one of those games.

The Whites want to see more fight from their side in the future and won’t be happy with the way they lost yesterday.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
