Leeds fans ready to support Jansson after FA shambles

Leeds fans have a serious reason to be fuming at the FA. Their home clash against Brentford was 18 days ago, meaning that the FA had over two weeks to decide what punishment they would give Pontus Jansson yet they still left it so late that the defender had already flown home from his wife and new-born baby to be apart of the squad for tonight’s game before he knew of his ban.

Jansson is one of the best defenders in the Championship and Leeds always struggle that little bit more when the Swedish colossus isn’t available. The main frustration for both the club and the player is that the Swede was mid-flight having left his baby daughter and wife back in Sweden to play in the game and found out upon landing that the whole trip was a waste of time. The fans, though, will do anything to stand behind Jansson and have taken to social media to show their support.

The game tonight against Ipswich is certainly a winnable one. The Portman Road faithful have had a tough time watching their side this season and they’re currently at the foot of the table having scored just 11 goals in their 13 games. Marcelo Bielsa, though, will be quick to stamp out any complacency in his side and whilst he’ll also be fuming over the Jansson ruling, he’ll be more focused on the game and just getting the points on the board when it comes to kicking off at Elland Road later tonight.

The fans are all behind Jansson and will hope he can go back and enjoy his few days with his daughter before the weekend’s clash with Nottingham Forest.
