The Leeds United fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing news that they will be on the lookout of yet another manager this summer.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that Steve Evans will not be offered a contract extension at Elland Road despite Massimo Cellino being happy with what the Scotsman has achieved this season.
Speaking about Evans future, Cellino said:
“Steve did the job he was taken on for. He signed a contract until the end of the current season. Now I need to know from the shareholders what programme they want from me for next season. Believe me, I’m not ready at this moment to give any answer. I need one or two weeks to cool down and focus better.”
It is believed that the favourite to take the reigns at Elland Road this summer, is former player and current Oldham manager John Sheridan who has just held a second round of talks with Cellino with regards to the position.
The Leeds fans in The Tavern are disappointed that Evans is being let go this summer as they were keen on some stability at Elland Road this summer.
