Leeds’ perfect June: Bielsa takes charge at Elland Road, Abel Hernandez joins

It’s been a good few weeks for the Leeds United fans in the Tavern. Most are excited to see improvements over the course of the summer, with a new manager still being eyed up.

The Whites struggled to ensure consistency during the second half of the season, with Paul Heckingbottom no longer in charge after being relieved of his duties.

Although, there’s all the more reason to be positive, with plenty of money in the bank and a number of impressive managerial candidates possibly being lined up.

Indeed, the month of June hasn’t been perfect just yet, but with talks and potential deals in the pipeline, supporters could yet experience one of the best months in the club’s history.

So, what could possibly turn this month into a dream for supporters?

Marcelo Bielsa joins

Leeds United are in the hunt for a new manager after sacking Heckingbottom, with the Whites reportedly holding further talks with Marcelo Bielsa.

The Argentinian has been in charge at a number of impressive European and international clubs, such as Argentina, Chile, Lazio, Athletic Bilbao, Marseille and LOSC Lille – and he is considered one of the greatest thinkers in the modern game.

Indeed, the former Lille boss loves to play an entertaining style of football and is world-renowned, so the Whites may be able to attract big-name players and could be on their way to the Premier League in no time.

Abel Hernandez joins

Abel Hernandez has always known how to find the back of the net, so it came as no surprise that he managed to net eight goals in 10 appearances in the season just gone.

Leeds United are reportedly in advanced talks with Abel Hernandez over a possible move to Elland Road, after the striker decided to turn down a contract extension and leave the KCOM Stadium last week.

The Whites are in desperate need of a striker this summer after witnessing the likes of Pierre-Michel Lasogga, Jay-Roy Grot and Caleb Ekuban’s inconsistencies in front of goal. So, Leeds may be able to secure promotion to the Premier League next season with a prolific striker like Hernandez in their ranks.
