Leeds team news: Marcelo Bielsa has key men unavailable

Leeds United will be looking to extend the gap at the top of the table on Tuesday when they meet Preston North End at Elland Road.

However, according to a match preview by Sky Sports, Marcelo Bielsa’s side will be without several key players for the visit of one of the Championship’s strugglers.

The Whites’ attacking options will be causing the Argentine manager a headache as their main men are all unavailable through injury.

Patrick Bamford is expected to miss the rest of 2018 with a posterior cruciate ligament injury he picked up in a developmental game, whilst Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez are not expected to make a return to action until the end of the month.

Gaetano Berardi remains out with a knee problem, whilst Jamie Shackleton will miss the visit of Preston with an ankle issue.

Bielsa will have some better news for their match against the Deepdale outfit, with Adam Forshaw slowly making his return to first-team action following a foot injury.

The Verdict:

Leeds will be looking to extend their unbeaten run at the expense of Preston on Tuesday night, who themselves have not had a great start to the Championship campaign.

Bielsa will know the game will be tough for his players, however, he will have been encouraged by what he saw from his players in their last game against Millwall at the weekend.

The attacking area will be of a concern with their main options all out for the foreseeable future but Leeds will feel they have enough about them to get a positive result.
