Leeds United have stood up to the challenge which their lengthy injury list has provided them with so far this season, cementing their promotion credentials in the process.
Indeed, Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Patrick Bamford have all suffered from early season injuries but Leeds have coped incredibly well in their absence.
Marcelo Bielsa’s relatively scarce resources have passed their first big test of the season, but another injury setback has provided the Argentine with a fresh problem to deal with ahead of Brentford’s visit to Elland Road.
Barry Douglas has been a mainstay at left-back this season but he collected a hamstring injury during Leeds’ 1-0 victory over Hull City in midweek – he will be sidelined for Brentford as a consequence.
Douglas’ absence leaves Bielsa with a conundrum to mull over ahead of Brentford with no senior left-back in the squad to call upon.
Academy product Tom Pearce, 20, is the most natural alternative to Douglas, but his lack of experience may count against him and convince Bielsa to start Stuart Dallas at left-back.
In the build up to Saturday’s fixture Bielsa described Dallas as a “solution” and hinted that the Northern Ireland international could be set to start against Brentford, as per Yorkshire Evening Post.
It’s fair to say that a handful of Leeds supporters are mystified by Bielsa’s suggestion that Dallas could fill in at left-back, and they have taken to Twitter to vent their frustration over his refusal to give Pearce a chance.
Here’s what the Leeds fans on Twitter have had to say about Bielsa’s selection hint…
I am going to ignore Bielsa's ability to get greatly improved performances out of every member of last season's squad and declare this a terrible decision

Personally prefer Pearce at left back. Nothing against Dallas, but Pearce gives us better balance IMO.

What when Pearce is better than Dallas berardi? Shocking a right midfielder is getting in over him

Pearce for pace. Dallas seems quite leggy to me recently and ring rusty

Stuart Dallas at left back with Alioski in front of him is what nightmares are made of
