Leeds United owner makes audacious claim, Champions League winner wants job

Ancelotti 4The Leeds United fans are gathered at the bar in The Transfer Tavern this evening discussing comments made by their club’s owner with regards to an experienced manager wanting to take control of their club.

The Telegraph is reporting Leeds owner Massimo Cellino confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti wants to manage the club should they ever return to the Premier League.

Leeds will start next season in the Championship and it will be their 12th in succession since their relegation from the top flight.

Pressure is increasing on current manager Steve Evans who has been accused of talking to much by Cellino, and it looks unlikely that the Scottish manager will see his contract extended beyond the end of the current campaign.

It comes as a surprise that Ancelotti even has Leeds on his radar, but speaking about the Italian, Cellino said:

“Ancelotti called me. ‘Massimo, bring the club into the Premier League and I come to you because the only place I miss and want to go back to is England. For me a good coach still has to show he’s a good coach. Come here and show me.”

The Leeds fans in The Tavern are not convinced that Ancelotti has even made contact with Cellino, and think it is just another attempt by their owner to get the fans back on side.

Does Ancelotti even know where Leeds is on a map? Could it really happen? Let us know in the comments below!
