Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for a successful summer transfer window that would put them back into the promotion picture.
The Whites ended a disappointing season in 13th place in the Championship, a step down after narrowly missing out on the playoff places last season. Manager Paul Heckingbottom is surely facing the sack as a result, or so hope our resident Whites who prop up our bar. Our punters are torn as to whether he deserves more time or another managerial change is needed.
Regardless of who is in charge, new signings are must if Leeds are to finally return to the Premier League. One man who can help them on their quest for promotion is Liverpool winger – Sheyi Ojo. The winger spent last season on loan with Fulham and helped the Cottagers gain promotion amid a wonderfully attacking team. Indeed, he made 22 appearances in the Championship, scoring four goals.
Ojo is valued at £2.25m by Transfermarkt and is unlikely to feature in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team plans when he returns to Anfield. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane aren’t being displaced any time soon with further summer recruits surely on the way. So, another loan move or a permanent move may be his only choice.
The 20-year-old has bags of pace and is extremely strong making him a nightmare for defenders. He would add some much needed quality to the Leeds front line. He would be an excellent signing that could fire them to promotion.
Leeds fans, thoughts?
