Leeds United should be doing all they can to bring £3.6m-rated man back to the club

The Leeds fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are again thinking about who will be their new manager heading into next season and whether they will have the ability to challenge for promotion.

It’s been a challenging season for all those involved with Leeds this season, having seen the club stumble to a 13th place finish, a position that isn’t good enough for a club of the distinguished history that Leeds have. Our punters are desperate for the club to bring in new talent who can help launch a substantial charge for promotion next season, with former Leeds star Sam Byram top of their transfer wants. Byram, who is valued at £3.6 million on Transfermarkt, has found first-team action hard to come by at West Ham and it seems the club may be destined to part ways this summer.

After just 5 Premier League appearances this season, it is well known that his time is now limited at the club, having struggled with injuries as well as generally trying to get into the side. Byram is still a good player but it hasn’t worked out for him in London, and that’s why a return to Leeds could be desirable for the 24-year-old.

The Englishman is accomplished while playing both right-back and right-midfield, versatility that would be welcomed by the Championship outfit. Having spent a large number of his early football days with Leeds, Sam Byram would be welcomed back with open arms as well as being a smart transfer for both teams, West Ham can try and build for their future and Leeds can build on their promotion dreams.
