West Bromwich Albion suffered defeat on the opening day of the current campaign, but they soon improved and now find themselves in a promising position.
The Baggies have now found their feet in the Championship as they aim to secure promotion straight back to the Premier League. And, it’s safe to say that they managed to hold onto a couple of their star players, which will only mean good things for them this season.
But, they are looking slightly weak in one position due to chairperson Li Piyue and manager Darren Moore’s failure to bring in a permanent signing during the summer.
Indeed, the Midlands club are in desperate need of a right-back as this has been a problem position for them in recent times, and they failed to bring in James Tavernier and Tom James.
In West Brom’s first few Championship fixtures of the season, right-back has caused the Baggies a number of defensive problems, with Moore already forced to turn to two different players.
So, Darren Moore’s failure to secure the permanent signing of a right-back could come back to haunt them as the season progresses. Indeed, they could look to bring in a player on loan, but it’s unlikely that the potential loan player would offer as much quality as a permanent signing would.
