Lucas Joao and Daniel Pudil face late fitness tests

Lucas Joao and Daniel Pudil face late fitness tests

Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to build on their first win of the Championship season on Saturday when they entertain Ipswich Town at Hillsborough.

The Owls recorded a 2-1 victory against Millwall in midweek and Jos Luhukay will be wanting his side to make it six points from six.

The Tractor Boys are yet to win a match in the Championship so far and the Dutchman will be looking to take advantage of that, however, he will be without one of his players for the visit.

According to the club’s official website, Joost van Aken will remain unavailable for the Owls with an ankle injury that he picked up against Sunderland in the League Cup.

Lucas Joao and Daniel Pudil will face late fitness tests to see if they will be able to play after both recovered from knocks.

Matthew Penney and Fraser Preston both made their first league starts in the win against Millwall and will both be pushing to remain in the starting XI on Saturday.

The Verdict:

Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to build on their win against Millwall last weekend and will be hoping Joao and Pudil can pass their late fitness tests.

The Owls could decide to keep the likes of Penney and Preston in the side for the match at Hillsborough, as Luhukay looks to build some momentum.

Ipswich are yet to win in the Championship this season, and Wednesday will be looking to capitalise on that as much as they can.
