Leeds United have been a force to be reckoned with in the Championship this season, but injuries have definitely had their say on the Whites’ recent consistency struggles.
Marcelo Bielsa has completely redefined the club since taking over during the summer, with automatic promotion to the Premier League in their sights. Although, they did suffer a setback on the injury front recently, as according to reliable journalist Phil Hayward’s personal Twitter account, Bielsa has stated that Luke Ayling has suffered an “important injury”.
Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has suggested that the injury Luke Ayling picked up on Saturday is likely to keep the defender on the sidelines for a prolonged period.
The defender was substituted in the first half of the Whites’ 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at Elland Road on Saturday evening.
Indeed, with the likes of Gaetano Berardi and Barry Douglas already spending time out on the sidelines for Leeds United, this has left a big dent in their promotion chances.
Bielsa said Ayling has suffered an "important injury". No more detail than that but it sounds serious, or potentially serious. #lufc

Luke Ayling has been one of the standout performers for Leeds United in the current campaign, so they’ll be gutted to see him sidelined for what is supposedly going to be a long period of time.
The Whites are left in a worrying position with the likes of Stuart Dallas and Tom Pearce being the only full-backs left at the club, unless Bielsa dips into the youth ranks.
