Luton Town will travel to Oakwell to take on Barnsley in Saturday’s lunchtime game as they look to continue their good form.
The Hatters are unbeaten in their last five League One fixtures and sit just outside the playoffs, three points behind their opponents.
Nathan Jones’ side managed to beat Scunthorpe Town in their last outing in the league and will want to ensure they bring that momentum with them for their trip to Yorkshire.
Jones has revealed that Danny Hylton is in contention after returning to training following a hamstring injury he picked up in August.
“He’s back in contention now,” he told the website.
“We’re happy up to right now, so providing nothing happens in the days coming then he’s available for selection and we’re delighted to have him back.
“We have been very conservative in terms of bringing him back. A year ago he would have been back in earlier than now, but what we’ve done is make sure that he comes back in mentally he’s right, physically he’s right, that we’re happy that we’re doing all the processes.
“He’s ready to go, whether he is ready for a full 90 is another thing. He’s important to what we do, so we will see.”
Luton will be delighted to have Hylton back available and have been smart in making sure that he is ready to make a return.
It is very easy to bring back one of your best players into the team when they just make their return from injury, but allowing him to ease back into training and working his way to full strength should benefit the Hatters.
Luton will go into the game on the back of a win against Scunthorpe and will feel confident about their chances, especially having picked up three wins from their last five matches, although Barnsley will certainly give Jones’ side a real test on Saturday.
