Marcelo Bielsa will look towards trio after Patrick Bamford’s injury

Leeds United are not expected to add any free agents to their squad in the wake of Patrick Bamford’s injury.

According to a report by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Marcelo Bielsa is believed to be planning on making the most of the youngsters he has at the club to help try and fill the void.

The summer signing suffered a posterior cruciate ligament injury during an Under-23 match with Bristol City and is now expected to miss around four months of action.

Kemar Roofe is now the only recognised senior striker in the team after a number of players departed from Elland Road on loan earlier in the transfer window.

However, despite the attacker having already been in some great form, there will be concerns that he will not be able to keep it going and will need help.

And, it is believed Bielsa could turn to the likes of Tyler Roberts, Ryan Edmondson and Jack Clarke over the winter months.

The Verdict:

Leeds will have been devastated by the injury suffered by Bamford, however, Bielsa can now use it as an opportunity to see what his youngsters are made of.

Roberts, Edmondson and Clarke had all managed to survive the axe the Argentine was wielding during the summer and kept their place at the Whites.

Roofe would be expected to be the main man for the Elland Road outfit this season, however, the trio now have a great opportunity to shine in the first-team, should they be handed the chance to do so in the coming months.
