Mateusz Klich receives one-match ban

Leeds United have been enjoying life at the summit of the Championship for much of the season, although a couple of draws has pushed them back to third.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have always been in and amongst the top teams in the division, despite the club having suffered a number of injury blows through the course of the campaign.

With the international break once again upon us, the Whites will be keen that their men on duty with their national sides do not pick up any unwanted medical concerns.

And, according to a report by Sportowe Fakty, they could have received some great news, despite it being at the expense of one of their own stars.

Mateusz Klich picked up a yellow card in Poland’s match against Portugal on Thursday night, meaning he is unavailable for their game against Italy at the weekend.

The midfielder had not initially realised he would be suspended, having been told by the reporter he would be suspended.

The Verdict:

Klich will have been disappointed to be unavailable for the game against Italy, however, it may work in Leeds’ favour.

The 28-year-old has risen to prominence for the Whites this season and has become a key man for Bielsa’s side, despite having a difficult start to life at Elland Road.

With him not being able to feature against the Azzurri, it means he should be fresh enough to be considered for the first-team next weekend when the Championship season resumes with a tough away trip to Blackburn Rovers next Saturday.
