The Newcastle fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are patiently awaiting new signings, in order for their optimism to again be high for the start of the new campaign.
Newcastle shocked many by finishing in 10th place last season but whether they can do that again is unknown right now, with the lack of investment potentially causing a real problem. The Magpies will eventually look to acquire some talented players in order to sustain a top 10 finish and because their main aim will be to buy a striker, our punters believe what better player to sign than Watford’s Troy Deeney, who is valued at £9 million on Transfermarkt.
The captain of the Hornets found game-time a lot harder to come by last season and therefore could think about leaving the club this summer in order to guarantee his starting 11 spot elsewhere. Newcastle are calling out for a top striker, one filled with experience and leadership qualities to take this team by the scruff of the neck and get them playing. Having suffered from a reduced amount of playing time, Deeney had to settle for 5 league goals last season, something he will look to build on no matter what next time out.
Deeney could be a player that the St. James’ Park crowd really get behind as he is everything they want in a striker. Troy Deeney is extremely committed, passionate and still has a great goal-scoring touch that could be very handy for Newcastle next season.
