Newcastle should turn to £6.3m-rated attacker to aid offensive rebuild this summer – agreed?

The Newcastle fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are waiting in hope that Mike Ashley will finally give his true backing to manager Rafa Benitez this summer in order for them to fulfil their long-term ambitions of becoming the club they once were.

The Magpies endured a terrific end to the season last time around, placing 10th overall which rewarded Benitez and his team with huge amounts of praise. The manager and players have shown they’re good enough now for the Premier League so now would be the perfect time to invest in players who can make a difference going forward.

Our punters believe that Jordan Ayew of recently relegated Swansea would be a great addition to the Newcastle squad, especially with his valuation marked at an affordable £6.3 million by Transfer Markt. The 26-year-old was one player you could definitely argue put his all into trying to help the Swans avoid relegation but his 11 goals in all competitions weren’t enough to stop the sinking ship.

His best attribute wouldn’t necessarily be his goal-scoring either, however, because his work off the ball is terrific and it’s safe to say that the Ghanian never stops running or working hard for his team.

The same cannot be argued for players like Joselu and Dwight Gayle who, although technically still good in their own right, Ayew gives a lot more to the all-around game of football.

Newcastle would have to act quickly for a player who could definitely have a positive impact on their fortunes next season, so Mike Ashley will have to be slick in getting the money ready to secure a hardworking, goal-scoring attacker in the form of Jordan Ayew.
