Newcastle United would be mad not to take a punt on £6.7m-rated Asian striker this summer

The Newcastle fans in and around the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to building on their top-half finish this summer with the addition of some new faces around the club.

Rafa Benitez seems to be taking all the credit and that is fair enough but our punters haven’t forgotten about the great efforts the team put in during the last weeks of the season to get Newcastle to 10th position. If they want to develop further or even sustain a top-half finish, Newcastle fans are hoping Benitez will take a look at Hee-Chan Hwang of RB Salzburg, who is valued at £6.7 million on Transfermarkt.

The centre-forward has been impressive for the Austrian side during their successful campaign this season, scoring 13 goals to help them towards a Europa League semi-final. The Korea Republic star is only 22-years-old and the form up-front he’s shown this season suggests he could be a good option for the Magpies to have in attack. Hee-Chan Hwang also has the ability to play across the frontline on either wing as well, which would add versatility to the current Newcastle squad.

The Magpies will be looking to strengthen their attacking options this summer after players like Dwight Gayle, Joselu and Christian Atsu only managed to score 12 goals between them all season long. Rafa Benitez has certainly got his side disciplined and defensively organised but now he needs to focus on recruiting the right attackers to make the Magpies a force going forwards as well.

The signing of the Korean forward would definitely be a gamble but the form he has shown at such a young age is exciting…
