Leeds United will be desperate to secure promotion to the Premier League, having defied expectations under Marcelo Bielsa this season.
The Whites have been far from perfect in recent times as they suffered defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest last time out, and were convincingly beaten by Hull City the game before.
Indeed, the month of January could go horribly wrong for the Yorkshire club as the current transfer window will decide their fate. Bielsa has the opportunity to strengthen in an attempt to boost their promotion push, but potential departures and missing out on targets could prove costly.
With that in mind, here is the nightmare January for Leeds United…
FAIL TO SIGN GOALKEEPER
Bielsa has called upon Bailey Peacock-Farrell in the current campaign, but there has been very little support for the youngster as an injury to Jamal Blackman has caused all sorts of problems.
Interestingly, the Whites are interested in securing Karl Darlow from Newcastle United, but nothing has come of the interest at this moment in time.
So, it’s vital that the South American brings in a goalkeeper this month as Peacock-Farrell has been liable to making a few mistakes and another injury could have massive implications.
JACK CLARKE LEAVES
Jack Clarke has established himself as one of the most promising players in the whole of English football in the current campaign, with two goals and one assist under his belt.
However, his breakthrough and rise to stardom has caught the eye of defending Premier League champions Manchester City, so he could be on his way out of Elland Road this month.
It would come as a huge disappointment if the Whites have to wave goodbye to the youngster this month as he has been one of their bright sparks and would play a huge part in their promotion push from here on in.
