Sheffield Wednesday will be desperate to seek improvements under Steve Bruce as they were never able to ensure consistency under the guidance of Jos Luhukay.
The Owls are not too far off the play-off places at this moment in time, but it would take something special for Bruce to drive them forward into the top-six.
Although, the Englishman could find himself in a spot of bother if the month of January goes against him, with negative factors surrounding the January transfer window possibly taking their toll on proceedings.
Therefore, here is the nightmare January for Sheffield Wednesday…
MISS OUT ON SIGNING A DEFENDER
Sheffield Wednesday have struggled to keep things tight at the heart of the defence in the current campaign, which has had a negative affect on their results up until this point. Shockingly, the Owls have conceded the third-most amount of goals in the Championship so far this season.
So, signing a defender is a must this month as they run the risk of getting dragged into a relegation fight.
STEVE BRUCE LOSES KEY PLAYERS
The likes of Matt Penney, Adam Reach and Steven Fletcher played a key part during the first half of the season for Sheffield Wednesday. But, with the January transfer window now open, a number of clubs could look to lure the Owls’ star players away from Hillsborough.
Indeed, the last thing Bruce would want is to lose one of his key players as this would automatically put the Englishman under pressure, with an immediate replacement needing to be found and a huge void left behind.
