Nottingham Forest fans here in the Tavern are hoping for a strong finish to the current campaign, as Aitor Karanka will be keeping a close eye on some of his players.
Indeed, Forest have had a season to forget as they have nothing to play for in today’s match against Bolton Wanderers, with many of our local residents hoping to see a promotion push next season. Although, supporters won’t get to see one of the club’s most respected members play in the red shirt later on today, as according to BBC Sport’s pre-match team news, Chris Cohen will not feature after announcing his retirement.
The 31-year-old was a top professional during his time at the City Ground and he will always be remembered as a hero for the club.
Interestingly, Chris Cohen came on as a substitute in their final home game of the season against Bristol City after a long-term knee injury. But, it looks as if he has played his final game in the red shirt of Nottingham Forest, as the versatile midfielder will not feature against Bolton after announcing his retirement.
Supporters will be gutted that they won’t be able to see Chris Cohen in action again, so the team will be desperate to secure all three points later on today. And, with Aitor Karanka possibly taking a look at a couple of players as the season comes to a close, this match will be of great importance to those who have a point to prove.
