Nottingham Forest will hit the road on Saturday as they prepare to face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Aitor Karanka’s side have been in fine form recently, having managed to win three on the spin and the Spaniard will be looking to turn that into a fourth.
However, they will face a tough test against Blackburn, as both sides are evenly matched when it comes to points won in the Championship.
Hillel Soudani will continue to miss out with a knee injury that has seen him miss their last four matches.
Diogo Goncalves is the other man to miss out, although it will be for suspension reasons, rather than an injury concern.
The on-loan Benfica winger will begin his three-match ban against Blackburn and will also miss the home tie to Millwall and an away day against Middlesbrough following the red card he picked up against Stoke City.
However, Karanka could have a selection dilemma to choose from following the League Cup match, with the likes of Liam Bridcutt, Tobias Figueiredo and Tendayi Darikwa all impressing.
Nottingham Forest will be looking to challenge for a play-off spot should they be able to overcome a stern challenge from Blackburn.
Although Goncalves and Soudani are both unavailable, Karanka will have been impressed with the performances from those that featured in midweek and will feel his squad has another quality to deal with those absences.
With the names that impressed in the Stoke game, it would appear that Karanka could have a positive selection headache going into the match at Ewood Park.
