Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to put this season behind them and get back into the hunt for promotion.
After coming so close to the Play-Off places last year, Leeds were expected to be in the mix again. However, the Whites failed to reach the heights of the previous campaign and ended the season in 13th place. A significant squad overhaul is needed if they are to return to the Premier League finally.
With Matthew Pennington returning to Everton, a centre back should be the main area that Paul Heckingbottom looks to address when the summer transfer window reopens. Another loan move makes perfect sense and Arsenal defender, Konstantinos Mavropanos, should be considered. He is valued at £1.8m by Transfermarkt.
The 20-year-old arrived at the club in January from Greek club PAS Giannina for around £2m. He has made three Premier League appearances since making a move to North London. Regarded as a defender with enormous potential, he needs first-team football to fulfil his potential. Standing at 6” 4’, he is an imposing defender that would have no problems with the physicality of the league.
A move to Elland Road would be beneficial to both parties as Leeds gain a hugely talented defender, and Arsenal get to see their star talent developing in a tough league.
