The Leeds United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to rumours on ESPN linking them with former Argentina manager, Marcelo Bielsa. The 62-year-old has managed in Spain, France and Italy at club level but is yet to take charge of an English club, although with his pedigree and experience of managing in three of Europe’s top leagues, the Championship shouldn’t come as too much of a challenge.
Away this week but two different people in the past fortnight have mentioned Bielsa to me as an option for Leeds:https://t.co/d2ZarQ4PcR

Whilst our resident Leeds fans have been getting excited about the potential hiring of such a well-established coach, the problem still remains that Paul Heckingbottom is yet to be sacked. The former Barnsley man was appointed as The Whites’ new gaffer back in February when Thomas Christensen was sacked following the club’s 4-1 away defeat at Cardiff, however, they could be set to see their third gaffer of 2018 as the Bielsa rumours intensify.
Leeds have been lacking in quality in the dugout for some time now, with managers coming in, underachieving and then being binned less than a year into their contract. Whilst that’s a harsh statement for some of the club’s former gaffers, it definitely won’t apply to Bielsa if he is to get the job at Elland Road. Bielsa will understand what it takes to manage top players, having worked as the Argentina boss for seven years between 1998 and 2005, taking the likes of Javier Zanetti, Diego Simeone and Gabriel Batistuta under his wing in the process.

Wow! This would be similar to Rafa Benitez managed Newcastle in this Division, someone that you’d think wouldn’t touch Championship. Massive massive coup! Apparently they said his press conferences would go on for 4 hours sometimes… get the popcorn out. Is this even possible?

I'm sure I read a piece by Rio Ferdinand a few years back, backing him to be next England manager. That's how highly rated he's been.
